The Easter Cross

During the Good Friday Service we ‘dressed’ the cross in purple, remembering the purple robes Jesus was clothed in by the soldiers – once an attempt at humiliation we transformed the meaning of the kingly colour into a symbol of the honour and glory we give our Prince of Peace.

On Easter day itself, gold ribbons were added to the cross, the bright, sunny colour reflecting the joy we felt as we celebrated the resurrection together!
