Prayer Ribbons

DSCF0006You may notice an extra splash of colour at Bishop Street this week as the altar rail is covered in brightly coloured ribbons. These ribbons symbolise the prayers of those who tied them during the service last Sunday. Please feel free to come and add your own, you will find a basket of ribbon close by with a sign that reads:

Just as you might add a candle for a someone, pleae feel free to take a ribbon and tie it to the altar rail as a prayer for a person or situation that is on your heart.

You may wish to say a prayer as you tie the ribbon or simply let the act of tying BE your prayer. Your ribbon will remain as a symbol of your prayer and of those of many others offered to God as they theytoo knelt at this altar rail.
